Black-and-white photograph

I have long considered pylons some of the most beautiful objects of the twentieth century, most especially the phasing of forms which occur when one passes them at speed in a car or on a train. For one moment an alignment occurs, the forms cohere, and it as if something has been resolved. These photographs, taken during a difficult walk, are an attempt to stay that moment, as well as that onto which it might open.
