This short film is an attempt to respond to the extraordinary life and work of the Elizabethan polymath John Dee. It is narrated by Jenny Runacre, who played Elizabeth I in Derek Jarman’s Jubilee (1978), which also featured the Renaissance courtier and conjuror.
The film was commissioned by the Royal College of Physicians for their exhibition Scholar, courtier, magician: the lost library of John Dee.
