Key to an Abandoned Airport
Graham Gussin and Jeremy Millar
Cast-metal replica key, plastic key-ring, paper
Key to an Abandoned Airport (2000) is a multiple work, in an edition of 100. It is an exact copy — made by a jeweller — of the key we were given to gain access to Fornebu airport; it opened the front door and doors leading to the runway. As the key was not collected by the time we had to leave, we brought it home and had copies made, including exact replicas of the key ring and label. Owners of the key are able to take it to Oslo, although it is uncertain which spaces, or times, it will now open.
